The College of Science attempts to develop students’ potentials and skills in all the different specialties the college works on so that it could provide the society with its needs in terms of the basic sciences. To achieve this, the college tries to provide a suitable atmosphere which goes hand in hand with the contemporary pedagogical methods and to ultimately win students’ trust. In summary, the College of Science at the University of Halabja is a hub of scientific excellence, where students are empowered with knowledge, skills, and a passion for discovery in the fields of physics and computer science. College Council

What is the College Council and what does it do?

The College Council is composed of the Dean of the College, Heads of Departments, Employes Representatives, and, when necessary, Student Representatives. The council is responsible for discussing all scientific and administrative matters within the college, including the determination of work and rest schedules, examination schedules, and admission issues.

The College Council performs the following functions:

  • Recommending admission requirements for academic departments and overseeing their implementation after approval.
  • Recommending the number of students to be admitted at the beginning of each academic year.
  • Proposing plans for the establishment of new scientific departments and branches, as well as suggesting the creation, merger, or dissolution of existing scientific departments or branches.
